Welcome
Statement on COVID-19
On behalf of the ICBIC 2021 Organising Committee we wish to advise that we are working full time on preparations for ICBIC 2021 in Adelaide and our plans for the upcoming Conference remain in place.
We are continuing to pay close attention to new developments with the novel Coronavirus, COVID-19, and we’re following the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Australian Government Department of Health.
The Conference Organising Committee are optimistic that Adelaide will be a safe place to hold the Conference in July next year. At the same time, they are also investigating options for delivery in a hybrid (virtual/onsite) format with the same dates.
To receive direct updates please ensure you complete the Expression of Interest Form as we will be increasing our communication to assist with your planning. We will be providing frequent updates as we navigate the issues and challenges with this current situation.
Come to Adelaide to celebrate ICBIC20 in July 2021
The Twentieth International Conference on Biological Inorganic Chemistry comes to the Adelaide Convention Centre in Adelaide, Australia in July 2021.
The conference will cover all aspects of the molecular roles of metal ions in biology - in human health and disease, in the pharmaceutical and imaging sciences, as well as connections to related fields such as environmental and nutrition sciences.
We have assembled both local and national organising committees from the Australian bioinorganic community who will aim to ensure stimulating scientific and social programs.
The conference will be held in parallel with the Royal Australian Chemical Institute’s Inorganic Division National conference in the same location, with all delegates having full access to sessions across both conferences.
Beautiful Adelaide is the right place to celebrate our science:-
- The new Convention Centre sits in the middle of the city, within the parkland associated with the iconic Torrens River.
- It is part of the Riverbank Biomedical Precinct that includes the universities, research institutes and hospitals.
- Hotels, restaurants, museums and galleries are within a ten minute walk of the Centre. Budget student accommodation is close by.
- Adelaide sits in a beautiful hinterland of world famous vineyards, mountains and coastlines. All of Australia’s famous tourist destinations, including the Red Heart and Kakadu are easily accessible.
We look forward to seeing you in 2021!
